How To Keep Active During Lockdown While at Home

In a cruel twist of fate, Thailand is no longer the safe haven it was in 2020. While the rest of the world toiled and struggled with managing COVID-19 outbreaks, Thailand was generally affected. The country closed its borders almost immediately following a rise in global cases, and that helped keep the virus from entering the country.

Now, new strains of COVID-19 have entered the country in one way or another, and most of the cities are back on lockdown. While lockdown is tough on our mental health, it also does a number on our physical health as well. Gyms and parks are closed, so how can one stay active and stay in shape while stuck at home?

Create a Routine

Keeping in shape doesn’t have to be a huge ordeal. Small, simple things can be wholly beneficial to your overall physical health.

The first step in any exercise regime is to establish a realistic routine. By knowing your behaviors and the limitations of your living space, you should design a workout routine that is doable and not something you dread.

Start by incorporating some dynamic stretching routines. That way, you get your blood flowing and start to feel better overall. You will be much more inclined to start exercising.

Use Your Body Weight

If you don’t have access to free weights at home, there are plenty of great exercises you can do just using your body weight. Pushups, situps, lunges, and squats are four simple exercises that can tackle all your major muscle groups with compound movements.

Create a simple superset that combines all those exercises into one set, and repeat that as many times as you can. If you are feeling strong and want an added workout, try doing some high-intensity cardio moves in between each exercise.
